'Between the ears,
your quiet advantage'
Welcome to BTE Sports Psychology, where elite golf performance is built from the inside out. We focus on practical mental strategies that sharpen focus, improve decision-making, and strengthen emotional control under pressure. By training the mind with the same intention as the swing, we help golfers develop a quiet competitive advantage and perform consistently when it matters most.
Meet the coach.
Hi! Im Tom, a Golf Psychology Coach dedicated to helping golfers of all abilities unlock their potential.

I am a Certified Golf Psychology coach as recognised by the International Mental Game Coaching Association and Confederation of Professional Golf. As well as having a BSc In Psychology and an MSc in Sports Psychology.

My philosophy is simple:
Performance = Ability - Interference.
Like a lens, your game gets sharper when you remove the smudges.

With over 15 years of competitive golf experience - Including international academy golf in Spain, Collegiate Golf in California and mini tour experience. I've lived the highs and lows of the sport, so when I say I understand what you're going through as a player, I truly mean it.

Is Sports Psychology right for me?
If you’ve ever said “I know I can play better than this”, then golf psychology may be exactly what you’re looking for.

Golf psychology is suitable for all levels — from club golfers and juniors to elite amateurs and professionals. You don’t need to be “mentally weak” or struggling badly to benefit. In fact, many of the best players work on their mental game precisely because small improvements make a big difference, just look at Mcilroy at the Masters.

If you’re committed to improving, open to learning, and willing to reflect on how you think, feel, and respond on the course, then golf psychology can help you play with greater clarity, confidence, and control.

Ultimately, it’s about playing golf that matches your ability — and enjoying the game more while you do.
Golf psychology isn’t about fixing your swing or changing who you are as a golfer. It’s about helping you perform closer to your true ability — more often, and under pressure. Many golfers have the technical skills they need, but struggle with confidence, focus, nerves, decision-making, or recovering from mistakes. That’s where the mental side of the game becomes decisive.

You might benefit from golf psychology if you:

-
Play well on the range but struggle to take it onto the course
-
Feel nervous on the first tee or when it really matters
-
Get frustrated, lose focus, or let one bad hole ruin your round
-
Doubt yourself over key shots or second-guess decisions
-
Want to compete better, score more consistently, or enjoy golf again
